How did it all begin? Well a friend of a friend was doing it… And he wouldn’t charge us anything… And why shouldn’t we try it? And there must be something better in our future than what we have now… And we were only 15…
He looked completely weird, with eyes that didn’t match the direction, overweight, not so old and yet already quite bald and living with his parents. Even if I would have been able to ignore all the internal drama my mother instilled in me with: “be careful!” and “anyone can take advantage of you anywhere because you are just a girl!” I would have been afraid of the guy and felt completely unpleasant at his place although his family was there.
Thanks God nothing happened!
And he was actually almost nice to talk to, and he did his best I guess, and yes, you can tell that even at that age if you are getting a good advice or not… Later on I learned that I might have a bit better ability to read the people than an average person, as it is in my chart you see… Still at that moment all I knew was that I was just guided with my momentary feelings and gut reactions. He told me some amazing things that I couldn’t even imagine in my life, at that point… I mean who wouldn’t like to be successful, traveling and living abroad? It was so clear that the probability of that to happen was non-existent from where I was standing; there was nothing I had to trust to in his story, not more than you would trust the reading from a coffee cup… Weirdest thing in it all was that I trusted him, through all the mixed feelings and the scrutiny of his words and behavior, and not wanting to be gullible and naive. Because the most of the things he said really resonated deeply with me, despite of my mistrust and awkwardness of the moment, I felt what was true to me… Don’t we all react like that? You can’t know if everything you hear is true, but some of it you feel as true and some you don’t, somewhere in your gut you always know! Not every word but many, many of them were just what I felt was right. And I was hooked!
You can see why I guess? There is not enough time in the world how many hours an unhappy person could sit listening about a better future, he or she is going to have one day; and how everything would change for them for the better… Mysteriously, guided by fate, irrevocable, inexplicable, it will fall down from above! There will be many hardships, for sure, never mind the details; but it will get better, so much better than this, and you could feel it, deep down. Of course you know it, too! We all feel our destiny brewing in our depths, we are just not all interested in putting it into words, saying it to others, let alone saying it to ourselves! I realized right now, after many years of playing with this subject, that the people who have the worst lives are the ones who call themselves “realistic”, “non-believers” who were never interested in the sound of their future… Now I understand why, if it is going to be that bad the least you want to do is to hear about it every day, therefore I venture to say only the brave ones and the ones with bright futures do have the need to hear about it, and it is because they already know it, deep down, we all do… So I had to do it myself, learn that skill and apply it to my daily motivation for a brighter future… I loved the apparent science and correctness of it. An astrology-lover was born!

AFICIONADA (plural aficionadas) a•fi•cio•na•da (əˌfɪʃ yəˈnɑ də, əˌfɪʃ ə-, əˌfi si ə-)
(rare) A devoted admirer. A female aficionado.
a woman who is a devotee; fan.
an ardent devotee; fan, enthusiast.
[1950–55; < Sp: feminine of aficionado]
1835–45; < Spanish: literally, amateur, past participle in -ado -ate1 of aficionar to engender affection, equivalent to afición affection1 + -ar infinitive suffix
The more likely usage of this term in English seems to be jocular intentional misspellings (meaning a “lesser” aficionado), not gender specific (since aficionado itself is not gender-specific in English.)
